So I’ve been summoned to Athens by my father to discuss my future and the possible collapse of the economy of Greece. This basically means I could lose all of my money and he could lose his and potentially we could be screwed, but we’re going to take the boat to Aegina and sunbathe and swim and pretend that everything is ok because that’s what my family does.
Cool story time? So you may have heard about a little something in American history called The War of 1812. If not, basically Britain was like “Hey, America? We’ve got all this ~Unresolved Tension~ from that little conflict we had, oh, about twenty-five years ago, and we’re…
Decent churches try not to force anything upon children and just focus on teaching them about God’s love actually, not about sin or…
I only try to attend fresh expression churches, i don’t think they come under a traditional denomination aside from the one that the building is assigned to. I refuse to attend churches that preach against homosexuality for instance, and some people may argue that this would go against the doctrines of Christianity but I don’t believe that to be the case. The churches I attend and have attended preach about love, eternal life, grace, forgiveness, giving, evangelism etc and don’t force the rest upon you. If you are confused about the bible and the idea of hell or sin, people are happy to help you but you have to be prepared for their interpretation of the bible which is varied and unavoidable. They let everyone have their own relationship with God. One I am referring to is a church I no longer attend is regenerationchurch.co.uk , hope that helps! x
Decent churches try not to force anything upon children and just focus on teaching them about God’s love actually, not about sin or hell or anything like that. Not all churches are the same, I’m sorry that this was your experience but…
I am aware that this occurs in some churches, probably more than most but I’ve never experienced or witnessed this and the churches I have been to actually preach against this, that is the whole purpose of free will and a child should never be expected to choose to follow God or not by a certain age, or pushed one way or another. Im really trying not to be confrontational, and I agree with all the things you post otherwise, I do really respect you I just felt I had to share my contradicting experiences as you seem to have only witnessed a certain type of preaching, no matter what denomination that falls under.
Took the train to south London where my car was being held hostage (not really but maybe a little bit)
Had brunch with Andrews and discussed our lives and how they lack purpose. So we basically silently cried over yoghurt and toast.
I drove to pick Libby up, we went to southend and drove for ages in search of ice cream. I also managed to dribble chocolate sauce all down the drivers side of my car.
We filled the car up with all of her worldly possessions and drove back to leytonstone to deposit them and then I speedily drove to lakeside to have my eyebrows waxed.
I didn’t really understand what an eyebrow tint was so I agreed to it thinking they would be made blonder and now I have dark dark brown eyebrows. And I have a wedding to go to tomorrow morning. Sweet.
